"The Most Visited Place in May Was Gangwondo"…Socar, Data from the Past Two Years
Over the past two years, Socar car-sharing customers have most frequently visited Gangwon Province as their travel destination in May.
Socar announced the results on the 29th after analyzing visit regions using the stop location data analysis platform 'Sofia.' This survey analyzed Socar stop location data from May 1 to 31 in 2022 and 2023. To increase the reliability of the results, data was extracted based on vehicles that were used for more than 4 hours during the period and stopped with the engine off for more than 1 hour.
The survey showed that about 5% of all Socar reservations during the same period involved visits to Gangwon Province, with an average car-sharing usage time of over 32 hours.
The most visited areas within Gangwon Province were ranked as follows: ▲Gangneung-si ▲Sokcho-si ▲Yangyang-gun ▲Chuncheon-si ▲Goseong-gun. The age distribution of visitors showed that 50.9% were in their 20s, 27.3% in their 30s, and 21.9% aged 40 and above, confirming that the 20s and 30s age groups traveled to various areas of Gangwon Province.
