'Refusal of Alcohol Test' Jimin-gyu, Chungnam Provincial Council Member, Appeals First Trial Verdict
Chungnam Provincial Assembly member Jimin-gyu, who was sentenced to prison in the first trial for refusing a breathalyzer test after causing a traffic accident, has filed an appeal.
According to the legal community on the 23rd, Assemblyman Ji submitted an appeal to the court on the 19th.
Earlier, the first trial court at Cheonan Branch of Daejeon District Court sentenced Assemblyman Ji to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year probation.
Assemblyman Ji is accused of driving on a road in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, around 12:15 a.m. on October 24 last year, hitting a fence and causing damage worth about 3 million won, and refusing a breathalyzer test requested by police who responded to a suspected drunk driving report.
After refusing the breathalyzer test and leaving the scene, Assemblyman Ji was arrested on the spot. At the police substation, he reportedly shouted, "This is coercive investigation. Tell me the exact time of arrest down to the hour, minute, and second, and who the informant is," directed at the officers.
