Fire Agency Corrects All Controversial Questions Due to 'Scope of Questions' Errors
Fire Agency "We Will Improve the Problem Review Method"
Following objections from examinees that some questions in the firefighter recruitment exam held at the end of last month were outside the scope of the test, the National Fire Agency has belatedly marked all such questions as correct.
According to the National Fire Agency on the 16th, the open and experienced recruitment exam for firefighters was conducted on the 30th of last month.
The question identified as having an error in the scope was question number 21 in the Introduction to Fire Science section. This question asked for the correct explanation regarding the 'Halon' fire extinguishing agent, but objections from examinees continued after the exam ended.
The claim was that the Halon fire extinguishing agent was not included in the exam syllabus for Introduction to Fire Science.
The National Fire Agency, which administered the exam, reviewed the objections from examinees and concluded that the Halon fire extinguishing agent was outside the exam scope, thus marking the question as correct for all examinees.
However, some argued that since Halon fire extinguishing agents had appeared in past exams without any special measures taken, it was incomprehensible that only this exam’s question was marked correct for all.
In response, the National Fire Agency explained, "Questions without objections from examinees are confirmed as correct answers without separate review. The Halon-related questions in 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2020 were questions without objections from examinees."
