12th Ulsan Tourist Guide Training Program

Enhancing Expertise to Revitalize the Local Tourism Industry

Ulsan City will conduct the "12th Ulsan Tourism Expert Guide Training" over three days from the 16th to the 18th.

This training is designed to enhance the understanding of Ulsan by allowing licensed tourist interpreters to experience representative tourist sites that connect history, culture, and industry, thereby providing in-depth information and increasing tourist satisfaction.

The training participants include about 30 licensed tourist interpreters aged from their 30s to 60s, proficient in five languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Main language (Malay-Indonesian).

The training begins with a lecture on "Ulsan's Industry, History, and Ecology" by Lee Sang-chan, Director of the Culture, Tourism, and Sports Bureau, followed by field visits to 11 representative tourist sites such as Bangudae Petroglyphs, Oegosan Onggi Village, and Daewangam Park. The charm of Ulsan as an industrial city will also be showcased through tours of Hyundai Heavy Industries and night views from the Ulsan Bridge Observatory.

Upon completion of the training, the tourist interpreters will receive certificates and be qualified to work as Ulsan tourism expert guides for two years.

An official from Ulsan City stated, "This training will lay the foundation for tourist interpreters to provide high-quality tourism services to foreign visitors," adding, "We will do our best to increase tourists' revisit rates and promote Ulsan's history, culture, and industry to the world."

Since 2018, Ulsan City has been conducting training for professional tourism guides and has produced 244 graduates up to the 11th class last year.
