Youth Intern Orientation Held
Experience Public Service Through Internship Activities
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 15th that it conducted an orientation for 55 youth interns hired this year, providing various information necessary for intern life, including the purpose of the youth internship and an introduction to the Ministry.
The youth internship program is a system led by the public sector to expand young people's opportunities for public service experience and to reflect diverse perspectives of youth across national governance through experience and participation in the policy decision-making process. It has been implemented since last year. This year, the Ministry plans to hire a total of 118 interns, with the first batch of 55 assigned to the headquarters and regional offices.
During the orientation, basic information necessary for life at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups was shared, including an introduction to the Ministry, policies for SMEs, ventures, and small business owners, as well as matters related to service. Guidance on the youth interns' job performance plan for the next six months was also provided.

Minister Oh Young-joo, who visited the orientation site, said, “The Ministry of SMEs and Startups operates under the motto ‘The answer to our questions lies in the field’ (우문현답), actively communicating with policy customers,” adding, “We plan to actively incorporate young people's policy ideas, so I urge you to frequently visit policy sites and observe SME and small business policies through the eyes of youth.”
