Bohae Brewery Presents 'Taxi Driver X Ipsaeju Special Edition'
Bohae Brewery incorporates the 'Memory of May' into its beloved local soju, Ipsaeju.
On the 15th, Bohae Brewery announced the release of a special edition Taxi Driver X Ipsaeju. It will be available in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions during April and May. The bottle is 360ml with 16.5% alcohol content.
The Taxi Driver X Ipsaeju product label reflects images from the film 'Taxi Driver,' which depicts the stories of Gwangju citizens centered on the May 18 Democratic Uprising. This film is based on the true story of German journalist J?rgen Hinzpeter and taxi driver Kim Sa-bok, who covered the situation in Gwangju in May 1980. Bohae Brewery views the film as a medium to remember May and included the message ‘We temporarily give up Ipsaeju’s place’ at the bottom of the label to commemorate the ‘extraordinary courage of ordinary people.’
