Busan Office of Education Supports the On-site Implementation of 'Questioning Classes'
Over 350 Elementary School Teachers Attend Training on June 16 to Enhance Teaching Skills
Sharing Question-Based Teaching Cases and Exploring Future Directions
On the 16th at 2:20 PM, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold an "Elementary Class Competency Enhancement Training" for over 350 teachers, including heads of learning guidance from all elementary schools in the Busan area, at the Busan Student Education and Culture Center auditorium.
This training aims to facilitate the smooth field implementation of the "Questioning Class" emphasized in the Office of Education's "2024 Student-Led Learning-Centered Class Basic Plan."
The "Questioning Class" highlights the importance of inquiry questions to achieve "deep learning," as pursued in the 2022 revised curriculum. It is a class where learners actively participate through step-by-step student-tailored questions, explore independently, and experience the joy of learning.
The training will include guidance on activating student-led learning-centered classes by the responsible education supervisor, a keynote lecture titled "Elementary Class Design Alive with Questions and Inquiry" by Sim Young-i, a senior teacher at Yewon Elementary School, and a lecture titled "How to Build a Questioning School?" by Hwang So-young, a teacher at Baekyang Elementary School.
Through the special lectures, teachers Sim and Hwang will introduce cases of question-based classes and also explore directions for future development.
Ha Yoon-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "'Classes alive with questions' are classes that realize true learning," adding, "Our Office of Education will continue to do its best to innovate classes for students' happy learning and growth."
