Pyeongtaek City Recruiting Semiconductor Practical Training Students for Future Technology School
Registration for Manufacturing Technology Specialist Course Starts from the 18th
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it will recruit trainees for the semiconductor practical skills workforce course of the "2024 Pyeongtaek Future Technology School" starting from the 18th.
The Future Technology School is a free training program publicly operated by Gyeonggi Province, Pyeongtaek City, Pyeongtaek Industrial Promotion Agency, and Hankyong National University to cultivate practical workforce needed in the semiconductor industry.
The program focuses on various practical courses such as semiconductor process theory and industry trends, process practice, equipment maintenance practice, and semiconductor electronic and mechanical design, aiming to produce talents with semiconductor job experience required by companies.
This year, a total of 80 people will be recruited for two courses. The courses are ▲ Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology Specialist 1st-2nd sessions (20 days, 160 hours) ▲ Semiconductor Process Equipment Engineer 1st-2nd sessions (40 days, 320 hours). Theoretical education will be held at Hankyong National University Pyeongtaek Campus, and practical training will take place at Korea Polytechnic University Semiconductor Convergence Campus.
Applicants must be Gyeonggi residents aged 15 or older who wish to receive education and employment in the semiconductor field, with additional points given to Pyeongtaek residents during interviews. The education is free of charge, and graduates will receive a training allowance of up to 400,000 KRW.
Applications can be submitted online through the Gyeonggi Job Foundation’s integrated application system "Jobaba Apply" within the application period for each course. The first session of the "Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology Specialist" course accepts applications from the 18th to the 23rd. The training starts on the 2nd of next month. The city plans to recruit trainees for the "Semiconductor Process Equipment Engineer" 1st-2nd sessions in June.
