40s Driver Who Hit Motorcycle and Fled Caught... Also Refused Breathalyzer Test
Victim Reports to Police, Suspect Flees
A man in his 40s who fled after causing a drunk driving accident in Cheonan, Chungnam, was caught by the police.
The Cheonan Seobuk Police Station announced on the 12th that they have apprehended and are investigating Mr. A (43) on charges including violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (hit-and-run causing injury).
On the 9th at around 11:38 PM, Mr. A, while driving under the influence in Cheonan, crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming motorcycle. He is accused of fleeing the scene without providing aid after the motorcycle driver reported the incident to the police.
Police who responded to the report found and arrested Mr. A hiding in a nearby one-room apartment parking lot.
At the time of arrest, signs of intoxication were confirmed, and police requested a breathalyzer test, but Mr. A refused.

A police official stated, "Although signs of intoxication were detected at the time of the accident, Mr. A refused to undergo the test until the end," adding, "He is currently under investigation."
