Goh Byung-hoon Appointed as Osan City's First Open Audit Officer
Mayor Ikwon Jae "Eradicating Unreasonable Practices Within Public Service"
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it has appointed Ko Byung-hoon (60), former Head of the Victim Support Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, as the Audit Officer through an open recruitment for the position.

The city’s personnel committee selected Mr. Ko as the final successful candidate on the 5th and awarded the appointment letter on the 11th. The newly appointed Audit Officer, Mr. Ko, is a former Prosecutorial Investigation Officer who served as Head of the Investigation Division at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office and later as Head of the Victim Support Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.
The Audit Officer holds the rank of Local Administrative Officer, with a term lasting until July 2026. He will oversee tasks including ▲establishing internal audit plans ▲comprehensive and specific audits ▲establishing public service discipline ▲enhancing public officials’ integrity and investigating public interest reports ▲investigating public officials’ misconduct and corruption ▲matters related to public officials’ asset registration ▲contract review and routine audits ▲investigating grievance complaints.
The city plans to reform public service discipline and promote various integrity policies through this open recruitment. In particular, it will focus on eradicating power abuse and improving unfair directives, as well as enhancing the integrity of internal public officials.
