The Green Bio Science and Technology Institute at Seoul National University announced on the 7th that Director Yang Tae-jin successfully completed the 34th "Distinguished Scholar Career Decisions" lecture held at the Seong Young-cheol Hall in the Korean Academy of Science and Technology building on the 4th.
The Distinguished Scholar Career Decisions lecture is a program organized by the Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST), where top researchers gather to share decision-making processes, knowledge, experience, and research know-how with fellow researchers and the public.
In this lecture, Director Yang shared with the public under the theme "The Dream of a Peanut Boy, the Path of an Agricultural Life Scientist," recounting decisive moments in life encountered while realizing his dream as an agricultural life scientist, hidden anecdotes related to various research processes, and research philosophies gained through successes and failures.

Director Yang is an expert in the field of green bio natural product materials and has actively conducted research on the genomes and metabolites of functional plants, including being the first in the world to complete and report the genome sequence of ginseng, Korea's representative medicinal crop. Recognized as a researcher who has contributed to the development of this field, he was elected as a new regular member of the 2024 Agriculture and Fisheries Division of KAST.
