Gwangyang City Tour Operates April Metropolitan Course 'Day to Travel Gwangyang'
Departure from Gwangju U-Square on the 17th, 19th, and 22nd for a total of 3 trips

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do has announced the April operation plan for the Gwangyang City Tour wide-area course, "A Day to Travel Gwangyang," which features unique courses every month.
The April course of "A Day to Travel Gwangyang," departing from Gwangju Youth Square, is composed of a blend of spring atmosphere and industrial tours, including the Canola Flower Field and Gwangyang Steelworks, and will be operated a total of three times on the 17th, 19th, and 22nd.
The Gwangyang City Tour wide-area course departs from Youth Square platform 3 (9:00 AM), strolls through the Canola Flowers along the Seomjin River, enjoys lunch at Mangdeok Port Food Town, and then tours the preserved house of poet Yun Dong-ju by Jeong Byeong-wook, and Baedo Island Garden in sequence.
Next, after touring Gwangyang Steelworks, the tour visits the Yi Sun-sin Bridge Promotion Center and arrives back at Gwangju Youth Square at 6:30 PM.
The Gwangyang Steelworks tour is only available for elementary school students in grade 3 or above, and for safety reasons, entry is restricted if wearing high heels, slippers, etc., so comfortable shoes such as sneakers must be worn. The fee is 15,000 KRW.
Kim Seong-su, Director of Tourism, said, "The April wide-area course is composed of a rich itinerary passing through the Canola Flowers along the Seomjin River, Mangdeok Port where the poetic spirit of Yun Dong-ju lives, Baedo Island Garden, Gwangyang Steelworks producing steel, and the elegant Yi Sun-sin Bridge."
He added, "The Gwangyang City Tour wide-area course, which has improved accessibility, is expected to attract potential tourists nationwide, including Seoul and the metropolitan area, who want to travel to Gwangyang, thereby branding Gwangyang’s tourism image and acting as a catalyst to activate stay-type tourism and the local economy."
