'7+ Age Restriction' Yeosu Expo Event Featuring Japanese AV Actress? ...Canceled Amid Controversy
Invited to 'Yeosu Expo OTT Music Festival'
Organizer: "Removed from the final lineup"
As news spread that a Japanese adult video (AV) actress was invited to the '2024 Yeosu Expo OTT Music Festival,' criticism from netizens continued, leading the organizers to eventually cancel the actress's appearance.
Recently, the first lineup of performers for the 'Yeosu Expo OTT Music Festival,' scheduled for May 24-25, was posted on online communities. The festival is held to wish for the successful hosting of the '2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo' and to promote tourism in Yeosu. The organizers publicly announced that famous DJs and artists representing K-pop would perform. Indeed, well-known singers such as CRAVITY, Sunmi, Hwasa, Lee Mujin, and Kim Feel were included in the lineup.
However, controversy arose when it was revealed that Japanese AV actress Ogura Yuna would appear as a DJ. Many argued that it was inappropriate for a Japanese AV actress to perform at a music festival commemorating a domestic expo. Above all, the event is rated for audiences aged 7 and older (with parental accompaniment allowed), and critics pointed out that having a Japanese AV actress perform at a concert where children attend with their parents was inappropriate.
Some netizens also pointed out that the festival’s name, ‘Yeosu Expo OTT Music Festival,’ implies participation with over 1.6 billion OTT users worldwide, and that the sudden inclusion of a Japanese adult video actress undermined the festival’s purpose.
In response to the controversy, the organizers told CBS No Cut News on the same day, "We had invited her for the enjoyment of the event, but after receiving concerns and reconsidering, we judged that her appearance was not suitable given the event’s viewing rating, and we informed her agency." They added, "Ogura Yuna is currently removed from the final lineup."
Regarding this matter, Yeosu City reportedly stated that the event is led by a private organization and has no connection with Yeosu City.

Meanwhile, the 'Adult Festival' scheduled to be held next month in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, is also known to invite Japanese AV actresses for autograph sessions and photo shoots, as well as to watch a lingerie fashion show. This has sparked controversy over the appropriateness of the event, especially since the venue is only about 50 meters away from an elementary school and the content is considered provocative.
