[2024 Asset Disclosure] Governor Kim Dong-yeon 3.5 Billion KRW · Superintendent Lim Tae-hee 4.6 Billion KRW
The assets of Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, and Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, as of the end of last year, were recorded at 3,530,620,000 KRW and 4,695,160,000 KRW, respectively.
According to the asset declaration details announced by the Public Officials Ethics Committee on the 28th, Governor Kim reported buildings (including jeonse lease rights) worth 2,696,000,000 KRW, deposits of 1,040,600,000 KRW, and debts of 210,000,000 KRW. This is a decrease of 360,480,000 KRW compared to the declared amount of 3,891,100,000 KRW at the asset disclosure in September last year.
Governor Kim explained that the decrease in deposits was due to an increase in jeonse deposits, and that his mother's assets (400,000,000 KRW) were excluded because he refused to disclose them citing reasons of supporting others.
Among the 17 heads of metropolitan local governments, he ranked sixth in terms of assets, following Kim Young-hwan, Governor of Chungbuk, Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan, Kim Jin-tae, Governor of Gangwon, and Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu.
Oh Byung-kwon, First Deputy Governor, reported holding 2,032,410,000 KRW, and Yeom Tae-young, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs, reported 2,275,110,000 KRW.
Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, declared assets worth 4,695,160,000 KRW, a decrease of 49,700,000 KRW compared to 4,744,870,000 KRW at last year’s asset disclosure. Lim’s office stated that the change was due to fluctuations in asset values and other factors.
Superintendent Lim reported 11 properties including apartments, commercial buildings, officetels, and land (298㎡) in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City, registered under his name, his spouse’s, and his mother’s. The scale of Superintendent Lim’s assets ranks second among the 16 superintendents nationwide who declared their assets this time, following Kang Eun-hee, Superintendent of Daegu.
