The two organizations agreed on key points including ▲ cooperation to promote survival swimming education by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education ▲ administrative and financial support for efficient educational project implementation ▲ provision of theoretical and practical training facilities for elementary survival swimming, and decided to utilize the Busan North Port Marina Swimming Pool as a survival swimming hub center.
According to the agreement, Busan Port Authority will provide survival swimming training facilities to students from 16 nearby elementary schools starting in April.
Kang Jun-seok, President of Busan Port Authority, said, "The Ministry of Education currently operates survival swimming as a mandatory elementary education course, but securing educational facilities is challenging. We expect that the Busan North Port Marina Swimming Pool serving as a hub center will greatly help activate survival swimming education."
