Suncheonhyang University Cheonan Hospital announced on the 27th that Professor Kim Young-gil (36) from the Department of Surgery received the 'Best Poster Presentation Award' at the '2024 Korean Association of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery International Academic Conference and the 60th Regular Academic Conference.'
Professor Kim's research paper, "Survival benefit of liver resection comparing TACE for intermediate stage of HC," compared and analyzed the outcomes of liver resection and transarterial chemoembolization performed on patients with intermediate-stage liver cancer.

Professor Kim Young-gil stated, "Liver resection is mainly performed on patients with early-stage liver cancer, but this study proved its effectiveness in patients with intermediate-stage liver cancer as well," adding, "The analysis showed that patients who underwent liver resection had higher survival rates and better prognoses compared to those who received transarterial chemoembolization."
