Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced on the 25th that it held the first "Citizen Happiness Committee" to realize the 8th term military government goal of "Gokseong where citizens are happier."

The "Citizen Happiness Committee" is composed of a total of 13 members, including the governor as the chairman and citizens from various sectors, according to the 「Gokseong-gun Ordinance on the Promotion of Citizen Happiness」, with a term of two years.

The committee will play a role in deliberating and advising on the basic plan and implementation plan for enhancing the happiness of the county, policy development, and other matters deemed necessary to promote citizen happiness.

On this day, the committee awarded appointment letters to 10 appointed members, elected a vice chairman, and provided guidance on the roles and duties of the Citizen Happiness Committee.

In addition, the committee shared the status of happiness policy promotion, including the development of happiness indicators and the citizen happiness survey conducted by Gokseong-gun over the past year, and discussed the future direction of happiness policy operation.

A county official said, "Now that the Citizen Happiness Committee has been formed, we will develop more efficient and citizen-desired happiness policies by collecting diverse opinions from the committee members."

Meanwhile, Gokseong-gun plans to actively establish a basic plan for promoting citizen happiness based on the results of the citizen happiness survey, starting with this committee meeting, and is committed to developing new happiness policies and integrating happiness into existing policies.
