Expressing Gratitude to Shipping Companies Contributing to the Increase and Development of Busan Port Cargo Volume
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) held an appreciation plaque awarding ceremony on the 25th at its headquarters in Jungang-dong to express gratitude to domestic and international shipping companies that contributed to the development of Busan Port last year.

View original imageThe awarded shipping companies are MSC, ONE, Korea Marine Transport, Heung-A Line, and Hapag-Lloyd.
MSC, which recorded the largest cargo volume among single shipping companies, handled 3.45 million TEU, an increase of 720,000 TEU compared to 2022, greatly contributing to the overall increase in cargo volume at Busan Port. Additionally, it handled 2.77 million TEU of transshipment cargo, marking the highest transshipment cargo handling record for a single shipping company for three consecutive years.
ONE (Ocean Network Express) handled the largest export and import cargo volume among shipping companies calling at Busan Port last year, with 1.03 million TEU.
Among domestic shipping companies, Korea Marine Transport recorded the highest total cargo volume and transshipment cargo volume, while Heung-A Line showed the largest increase in cargo volume.
Hapag-Lloyd significantly contributed to reducing ship emissions and Busan Port’s decarbonization policy by greatly increasing the number of vessels complying with slow steaming.
