Reinvestment and Roles in Attracting Office-Tels to Revitalize Commercial Areas
On the 25th, Kim Jong-min, the candidate for Saeroun Mirae in Sejong City District Gap, announced plans to establish the "(tentative name) Sejong Commercial Area Revitalization Emergency Countermeasure Organization" in response to vacant commercial spaces in Sejong.
The Sejong Commercial Area Revitalization Emergency Countermeasure Organization will be composed of LH, Sejong City Hall, the Administrative City Construction Agency, civic groups, and the Commercial Association. LH will contribute development charges and investment funds, with Sejong City and others providing additional contributions to create an initial fund of 700 billion KRW.
The organization will attract officetels, business hotels, venture companies, institutions, smart farms, and other entities, reinvesting profits into revitalizing the commercial area, as well as playing a role in institutional improvements such as changes in building usage.

Candidate Kim Jong-min stated, “The vacancy rate of commercial spaces in Sejong City is continuously increasing, which is a serious problem. By establishing the Sejong Commercial Area Revitalization Emergency Countermeasure Organization, we will resolve issues through consensus and coordination among stakeholders and build a bridge toward a Sejong with a population of one million.”
