Kyung-Hoon Lee Ties for 13th... 'Top 10 in Sight'
PGA Tour Valspar Championship 3R 1 Under Par
Mitchell Leads, Power 2nd, Kim Seonghyun Tied 70th
Lee Kyoung-hoon increased his chances of breaking into the ‘Top 10’.
On the 23rd (local time), at the Innisbrook Resort Copperhead Course (Par 71, 7,340 yards) in Palm Harbor, Florida, USA, during the third round of the PGA Tour Valspar Championship (total prize money $8.4 million), he added a 1-under-par 70 to sit tied for 13th place (5-under-par 208). He recorded one eagle, one birdie, and two bogeys. He relied on a green hit rate of 72.22% for accuracy. He was only one stroke behind the group tied for 8th place. Following a tie for 4th place at the Cognizant Classic earlier this month, this is his second opportunity for a ‘Top 10’ finish this year.
In a post-round interview, Lee said, "It’s disappointing to have a bogey on the last hole, but there’s still one day left, so I will try to play well." He added, "There is a gap from the leader, and the course is difficult, but if I get into a good rhythm, I can lower my score, so if I focus and work hard tomorrow, I think I can reach a good position." Regarding the eagle on the 11th hole (Par 5) for two consecutive days, he reflected, "Today, my tee shot went slightly to the right but was well struck, and the second shot with a 5-iron was also good. I was happy to make an eagle on the same hole two days in a row."
