Gangnam, Seoul Gang Arrested for Extorting 100 Million Won Using Cryptocurrency Scam
Another case of extortion disguised as cryptocurrency trading has occurred in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul.
On the 21st, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had urgently arrested and were investigating seven individuals, including men in their 20s, on charges of special robbery.
They are accused of stealing 100 million won in cash from a victim they met for a coin transaction around 12:50 a.m. in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The police arrested three members of the group near the crime scene and captured the remaining four in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province. The rest of the fleeing suspects are currently being pursued.
