62% of Companies Have Not Adopted Generative AI for Work Due to "Concerns Over Information Leakage"
71% Say "No Plans for Future Implementation"
A survey revealed that more than half of companies have not adopted generative artificial intelligence (AI) like ChatGPT at the corporate level for their work. This was due to concerns about information leakage and the need to prepare specialized personnel and systems.
On the 21st, the Korea Employers Federation announced that it conducted a 'Major Companies AI Adoption Status and Perception Survey' targeting the top 100 companies by sales in 2022 (excluding public enterprises) and 50 major member companies of the Federation, yielding these results.
The survey showed that 62% of respondent companies answered that they had not adopted generative AI for work at the company level. Specifically, 50% responded that 'employees use it individually,' and 12.0% said that 'use is prohibited at the company level.'
The most cited reason for not adopting AI was 'concerns about information leakage (41.9%).' This was followed by 'need for preparation period (29.0%)' and 'not necessary due to the nature of work (16.1%).' Additionally, among companies that have not adopted AI, 71.0% said they have no plans to adopt it in the future.
Among companies that have adopted AI, 85.7% said AI usage reduced the time required for work. Regarding the impact of AI adoption on jobs within companies, the most common opinion (75.0%) was that 'there will be no significant change.'
