Hapcheon Cinema Surpasses 30,000 Visitors After Reopening
Serving as a Regional Representative Complex Cultural Space
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 19th that the small cinema Hapcheon Cinema has surpassed 30,000 visitors since its reopening, firmly establishing itself as a representative complex cultural space in the region.
Hapcheon Cinema had repeatedly closed and resumed direct management due to company bankruptcies caused by COVID-19 in 2020, but since May 19, 2023, it has been operated on consignment by Movie Walk Hapcheon.
Recently, thanks to the success of the film industry and the steady interest of local residents, the cinema has exceeded 30,000 cumulative visitors within 10 months of reopening and is soon expected to surpass 40,000 visitors.
This figure far exceeds the national average number of viewers relative to the population in the film market, which has been stagnant since COVID-19.
The achievement is attributed to the remodeling of Hapcheon Cinema, improvements in cinema quality comparable to multiplexes, and the active response and high cultural awareness of Hapcheon residents.
