GH Collaborates with Korea East-West Power for 'Immok Waste' Recycling
Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea East-West Power for the recycling of timber resources.
According to the agreement, timber waste generated from various development projects implemented by GH, such as housing construction, industrial complexes, land development, and road projects, will be supplied as fuel to Korea East-West Power's biomass power plants.
GH expects that supplying timber waste as a biomass power plant fuel resource will reduce carbon emissions by 113,000 tons and generate an energy substitution effect worth 21.7 billion KRW.
Korea East-West Power will convert the supplied timber resources into renewable energy, producing 70 GWh of electricity, enough to power 200,000 households (based on 4 persons per household) for one month.
