LX Semicon Joins 'K-RE100' for Carbon Neutrality
Installation of Solar Power Generation Facilities at Daejeon Campus
LX Semicon announced on the 14th that it has joined the Korean RE100 (K-RE100) to achieve its carbon neutrality goals.
K-RE100 is a Korean system for carbon neutrality projects voluntarily undertaken by companies. It has been implemented since 2021 to promote the use of renewable energy and expand the domestic renewable energy industry with the goal of corporate carbon neutrality.

It is expected to reduce about 10% of the Daejeon campus's electricity consumption through an annual generation of more than 120,000 kWh. Additionally, it plans to increase the share of renewable energy through power purchase agreements (PPA) and the purchase of renewable energy certificates (REC) in the future.
LX Semicon has set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. As a fabless (semiconductor design) company, LX Semicon is not subject to the mandatory "Greenhouse Gas Target Management System," but it voluntarily participates in carbon neutrality and carries out various activities to overcome the climate crisis.
In this process, the company decided to gradually replace work vehicles at its operating sites with eco-friendly vehicles. Also, in January, it installed three 7 kW electric vehicle slow chargers at the Daejeon campus. In addition, it is promoting energy facility efficiency improvements and transitions to low-carbon facilities.
To strengthen the foundation for responding to climate change, the company obtained the Energy Management System (ISO 50001) certification last year and is accelerating ESG management. 'The ISO 50001 international standard is a certification system awarded to companies that practice efficient energy management by inspecting the energy usage status and internal processes for energy management in the company’s main buildings.
