[Breaking] In March, New Medical Staff Hires to Receive Monthly Support of 18 Million KRW for Doctors and 4 Million KRW for Nurses
On the 13th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that in March, when medical personnel are newly hired at tertiary general hospitals and public medical institutions, doctors will receive up to 18 million KRW per month, and nurses up to 4 million KRW per month in support.
Additionally, starting from this day and for one month, when patients are transferred from tertiary general hospitals to primary and secondary hospitals through the Tertiary Hospital Medical Cooperation Center, the government will fully cover the ambulance fees, which were previously entirely borne by the patients.
From the 15th, incentives will also be provided to dedicated personnel who classify severity levels when guiding mild and non-emergency patients to other medical institutions at regional emergency medical centers.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare is investing 128.5 billion KRW from contingency funds and 188.2 billion KRW from health insurance finances to minimize gaps in severe and emergency care caused by residents leaving their workplaces.
