"Expansion of Battery Logistics"... CJ Logistics Obtains International Standard Certification for Lithium Transport
Obtained Lithium Battery Air Transport Certification from IATA
Strengthening Battery Logistics Business... Expanding to Used Battery Collection and Equipment
CJ Logistics has obtained international certification for lithium battery air transportation and will actively expand its battery logistics business.
On the 13th, CJ Logistics announced that it had acquired the 'Lithium Battery Air Transport Certification (CEIV Lithium Battery)' qualification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This is an international standard certification issued by IATA after evaluating lithium battery transportation procedures, facilities, equipment, and regulations. Since lithium batteries pose risks such as fire and explosion during international transport, battery manufacturers have been requiring logistics companies, carriers, and airlines to obtain such international standard certifications.
With this certification, CJ Logistics is expected to further expand its battery logistics business. CJ Logistics has already trained specialized personnel for lithium battery transportation through IATA education. Separate handling procedures and standards have also been established to enhance safety.
Furthermore, the company plans to expand its business scope beyond battery transportation to include additional logistics services. This is expected to cover storage logistics for finished products and parts, collection and reuse/recycling of waste batteries, and logistics for battery manufacturing plant facilities. CJ Logistics has already secured a project logistics contract worth 300 billion KRW to transport materials and equipment necessary for the completion of a U.S. production plant for domestic battery manufacturers.
