Korea Yumicoa Battery Materials to Participate in 'InterBattery 2024'
Showcasing Next-Generation Cathode Active Material (CAM) Portfolio and Global Production Capabilities
Global materials technology company Korea Umicore Battery Materials participated in 'InterBattery 2024,' the largest domestic battery industry exhibition held at COEX, Seoul, from March 6 to 8, showcasing a portfolio of next-generation innovative battery material technologies leading the electric vehicle market.
Under the theme "Umicore Leading Next-Generation Electric Vehicle Battery Material Technology," the exhibition booth presented a cathode active material (CAM) portfolio applicable to all vehicle segments, from entry-level and compact cars to mass-market mid-size cars, premium, and lifestyle electric vehicles. In particular, Umicore actively promoted its innovative technologies covering next-generation cathode materials such as Hi-Ni NMC, high-lithium manganese (HLM) battery materials, solid-state batteries, and sodium-ion batteries.
In addition to the innovative technology portfolio, the exhibition introduced Umicore's current global supply chains in Asia and Europe, as well as secondary battery material production facilities under construction in North America. The industry-leading R&D centers located in Olen, Belgium; Kokkola, Finland; and Cheonan, Korea, were also showcased.

Executive Director Kim stated, "Umicore is leading the electric vehicle transition through a solidly established global battery material supply chain and battery technology leadership."
Additionally, Korea Umicore Battery Materials participated in a job fair, where the HR team and current employees provided mentoring programs including one-on-one job consultations for future talent and introduced the company and recruitment plans through corporate presentations. The early closure of pre-scheduled recruitment consultations attracted significant attention.
