Actor Park Hoon Wins Best Supporting Actor Award; Editor Kim Sang-beom Receives Editing Award
The film 'Seoul's Spring' won the Best Supporting Actor award (Park Hoon) and Best Editing award (Kim Sang-beom) at the 17th Asia Film Awards (AFA), the distributor Plus M Entertainment announced on the 11th.
Director Kim Sung-soo and actor Park Hoon attended the AFA held in Hong Kong on the 10th. Park Hoon, who played Moon Il-pyeong, the secretary chief to Jeon Du-kwang (Hwang Jung-min) and a key figure in the rebel forces, said, "Many seniors and colleagues expressed it as 'I thought I was making a work, but I met a work.' That phrase carried a lot of meaning, and I met 'Seoul's Spring.' If I hadn't met this work, I wouldn't have been able to bear the weight of the trophy." He added, "I dedicate all the glory of this award to Director Kim Sung-soo, who has loved, argued with, fought for, and lived beautifully with cinema."
Editor Kim Sang-beom, who was nominated for Best Editing at the AFA for the 10th (Veteran), 11th (The Handmaiden), 13th (The Spy Gone North), and 16th (Decision to Leave) editions, won the award for the fifth time with 'Seoul's Spring.'
