'Jinbongsan Manghaesa Area in Gimje' will be designated as a nationally recognized heritage scenic site. The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 11th that it will collect opinions from various sectors for a month and finalize the designation through a review by the Cultural Heritage Committee.
Manghaesa Temple, which holds a long history, along with the Mangyeong River and the West Sea, harmonize to boast a beautiful landscape. As the name Manghaesa (望海寺), meaning a temple overlooking the sea, suggests, it has long been famous as a scenic spot with beautiful views of the setting sun.

The estuary of the Mangyeong River, freshwatered due to the construction of the Saemangeum seawall, is a representative migratory bird habitat in Korea. It holds significant biological value as a habitat for diverse species.
