Daegu Nam-gu Office is leading the expansion of the barefoot walking movement by promoting the barefoot walking project, the first of its kind nationwide led by a local government in 2023, through a business agreement with the Barefoot School of Korea.
Daegu Nam-gu Barefoot University started its first term in 2023, with about 30 residents participating in each of the four terms. Participants attend barefoot walking theory classes and experience barefoot walking along the trails of Apsan Mountain. Last year, 120 people completed the course.

View original imageThe "5th Term of Nam-gu Barefoot University in 2024" began with an opening ceremony at 9 a.m. on the 2nd and will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon for 10 weeks.
The Barefoot University classes are conducted by the chief vice principal and assistant instructors of the Barefoot School of Korea. The total 180-minute class consists of 90 minutes of theory and 90 minutes of walking experience. Any Nam-gu resident who wishes to walk barefoot can participate without any special equipment or cost.
