Gochang-gun to Host 'Cherry Blossom Festival' in Seokjeong District from 29th to 31st

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 8th that it will hold the ‘2nd Gochang Cherry Blossom Festival’ from the 29th to the 31st at the Seokjeong District area, famous for its cherry blossom tunnel.

The festival period has been moved two days earlier than last year, considering the cherry blossom blooming season.

The Gochang Cherry Blossom Festival was held last year as a special spring event to celebrate the ‘2023 World Heritage City Gochang Visit Year.’

At that time, it was praised as a successful festival with many residents and tourists visiting, and this year the festival will be held with significantly more attractions and experiential activities.

The county is accelerating final preparations, including creating beautiful cherry blossom paths, abundant food booths, experiential programs, and celebratory performances to attract more tourists.

In particular, the focus is on improving convenience facilities such as traffic and restroom issues. Efforts will be made to build an image of the Gochang Cherry Blossom Festival as a place visitors want to return to.

County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “The cherry blossom festival, which received much love last year, is holding its second event under the title ‘Excited, Spring’ to repay that love. We will do our best to make it cleaner, more convenient, and above all, to allow visitors to fully enjoy and heal at Gochang’s cherry blossom spots.”
