Jungnang-gu Takes Care of Construction Workers' Mental Health at Building Sites
Safety Training and Psychological Screening for Construction Workers on the 7th... Submission of On-Site Action Results Without Visiting the District Office Using a Smart Safety Management System
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) conducted psychological assessments along with training on the newly introduced construction site safety management system for personnel involved in 71 ongoing construction sites as of the 7th.
At construction sites, safety inspections are conducted about eight times annually, including during the thawing season. Each time, any abnormalities had to be recorded on paper checklists and the results submitted by visiting the district office.
To improve this process, the newly introduced Smart Construction Safety Management System allows submission of action results via mobile devices or computers without visiting the district office, greatly enhancing convenience. The district office can also promptly monitor inspection results in real time, making it important to promote active use of the new system for swift action in emergencies.
This system was introduced last year and operated on a trial basis, but many construction sites still rely heavily on the traditional method due to unfamiliarity with the system. This is why the district is promoting this training.
The district plans to operate both the existing method and the new system concurrently until this year, and fully implement the new system next year.
The mental health of workers at construction sites, where safety is the top priority, is directly linked to safety. Accordingly, given the high male suicide rate and the fact that most construction workers are male, depression screenings were also conducted on this day to provide psychological support.
