On that day, Governor Park said, “In our region, it is essential to increase the number of doctors to fill the gaps in regional and essential medical care, but if the departure of residents in training prolongs, the burden on hospitals will increase and the health of residents may be threatened,” adding, “Please make efforts to ensure that the emergency medical system operates smoothly.”
He also stated, “The Gyeongnam Province Emergency Medical Situation Room is playing a significant role by responding well to the current situation and being introduced as a model case to central government departments,” and requested, “Centered on the Emergency Medical Situation Room, cities and counties should also carry out emergency medical measures without fail to ensure that residents’ lives are not threatened and not to let their guard down.”
He further urged that the medical delivery system for severe emergency treatment, which guides severe patients to higher-level hospitals and mild patients to local hospitals, should operate smoothly.
