Gwangju Bank Accelerates Localization in Vietnam Through Strategic Partnership
Gwangju Bank's Vietnamese subsidiary, 'JB Securities Vietnam,' announced on the 7th that it has signed a strategic investment agreement and partnership with the local financial platform Infina.
The investment agreement was made to strengthen and expand strategic collaboration with the financial platform company.
Through collaboration among JB Financial Group affiliates, JB Investment acquired approximately 3.9% of Infina's shares and plans to increase its stake to about 5% depending on the collaborative results between Infina and JBSV in the future.
In April 2020, Gwangju Bank launched its first overseas subsidiary, 'JBSV,' by acquiring a securities firm based in Hanoi, Vietnam, signaling its entry into the Southeast Asian financial market, focusing on diversifying its business areas and securing future growth engines.
Since then, 'JBSV' successfully turned profitable the year after acquisition, based on localized investment banking (IB) services such as underwriting corporate bonds for local Vietnamese companies.
Last September, it launched 'FINAVI (financial Navigator),' an online securities trading service for customers, and successfully established a local presence with active and differentiated marketing, recruiting about 30,000 securities accounts within three months.
