364 Seasonal Workers Expected to Arrive in the First Half of the Year... Hopes to Alleviate Labor Shortage
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) conducted a human rights violation prevention education session on the 6th at Seungdal Arts Center for about 100 employers of foreign seasonal workers.
According to the county on the 7th, the education was held by inviting Moon Gil-ju, head of the Jeonnam Labor Rights Center, to address issues related to human rights violations of seasonal workers and cases of damage counseling, in response to the increasing importance of preventing human rights violations related to foreign seasonal workers.

Starting with this education, the county plans to continuously conduct farm education and inspections to protect the human rights of seasonal workers and greatly assist in alleviating labor shortages on farms.
Muan-gun first introduced foreign seasonal workers in 2022, and by the second half of last year, about 300 foreign seasonal workers had entered the country.
In the first half of this year, a total of about 364 seasonal workers are undergoing administrative procedures to enter the country, including 138 workers from Laos, 102 workers from the Philippines, and 124 through family invitation of marriage immigrants, which is expected to significantly contribute to solving the rural labor shortage problem.
Governor Kim San said, “I ask for your cooperation to ensure that seasonal workers can operate stably and exemplary,” and added, “We will actively strive in various ways, including operating a public seasonal labor project, to solve the labor shortage problem during the busy farming season.”
