kT and KT Engineering Agreement for ICT Infrastructure Construction

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 6th that it signed a business agreement with KT and KT Engineering to build the region's digital information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure and promote regional development.

The signing ceremony, attended by Lee Sang-cheol, Gokseong-gun Governor, Kim Yong-nam, Head of KT Jeonnam and Jeonbuk Corporate Customer Headquarters, and Yoo Chang-gyu, Head of KT Engineering Business Division, laid an important foundation for regional development and vitality enhancement.

The core of the agreement focuses on "building digital ICT infrastructure," "establishing a regional vitality town base," "tourism resource infrastructure and customized response projects," and "cooperation to respond to the risk of local extinction."

KT will be responsible for building communication networks, AI, big data, and cloud services, while KT Engineering will handle civil engineering, architecture, electrical, and energy infrastructure construction, planning to implement practical cooperation between the parties.

Additionally, an agreement was reached to build a platform for systematic management of tourism resources and provision of high-quality information.

This is expected to contribute to the expansion of tourism-type living population and inject new vitality into the region.

A county official said, "We hope this business agreement will greatly contribute to the development and vitality enhancement of our county based on the construction of digital ICT infrastructure."

Meanwhile, the county is accelerating preparations for the application to the Regional Vitality Town Creation Project, a multi-ministerial linked project led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. This project aims to create a living hub integrating "housing, living infrastructure, and living services," with the core goal of improving local living conditions and supporting resident settlement.

From the early stages of the application, Gokseong-gun has been concretizing the project promotion through close cooperation with KT and KT Engineering, exploring ways for this application to become the central axis of regional vitality.
