Jinju-si Selected as an Excellent Institution in Local Government Innovation Evaluation Hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety
Ranked 6th Among 75 Institutions in the City
Significant Rise from 41st Place in 2022
Jinju City in Gyeongnam was selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2023 Local Government Innovation Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Local Government Innovation Evaluation assesses 243 local governments nationwide (17 metropolitan, 75 city, 82 county, 69 district) based on three categories: innovation capability, innovation evaluation, and public perception, using 10 indicators. Jinju City ranked 6th among 75 city-level institutions and received the highest grade of excellence.
This result represents a significant improvement compared to 2022, with the grade rising from ‘average’ to ‘excellent’ and the ranking jumping from 41st to 6th place.
In this evaluation, Jinju City received particularly high marks in the mayor’s innovation leadership, public data openness, activation of public-private cooperation, innovation in work methods and organizational culture improvement, and public perception indicators.
Out of the 10 overall indicators, Jinju City received excellent evaluations in six areas and achieved at least average ratings in all indicators, demonstrating concrete results from the institution’s efforts toward local government innovation.
