Seong-Jin Cho Passes on Know-How to Juniors in His 'First Masterclass'
On May 12 at the complex cultural space 'Odeu Poteu'
Pianist Cho Seong-jin will hold his first masterclass on May 12 at Odd Port Live Hall, a complex cultural space in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the performance planning company Credia announced on the 29th.
Cho Seong-jin's masterclass is organized as part of an event commemorating the 30th anniversary of Credia's founding.
Credia explained that in this masterclass, Cho Seong-jin will share with talented students who will lead the future classical music scene his approach to creating music, techniques, as well as the experiences and know-how he has accumulated on the world stage since the Chopin Competition. They added that the approximately 40 attendees will have a valuable opportunity to gain a deep musical understanding beyond simple music appreciation.
Applications to participate in Cho Seong-jin's masterclass can be made on the Credia website until March 31. The method for applying to attend will be announced on April 1 through the Credia website and Instagram, and the final list of selected masterclass participants and attendees will be announced on April 15.

Cho Seong-jin won first place at the 2015 Chopin International Piano Competition, the world's most prestigious piano competition. In January 2016, he signed an exclusive contract with the world-renowned classical label Deutsche Grammophon, and he was selected as a resident musician of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2024?2025 season.
