Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation and Yangju City Promote Establishment of Drone Demonstration City
Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation has been finally selected as the drone demonstration city project operator by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Aviation Safety Technology Institute.
This project is led by Yangju City as the representative operator, with Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation and Yangju's promising drone company BCD ENC Co., Ltd. taking charge. In addition, drone specialized companies such as Podream Co., Ltd., Carbonmake Co., Ltd., and Innosky Co., Ltd. are participating as a consortium.
In particular, last November, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yangju City, declaring the establishment of a cooperative system for next-generation mobility demonstration and pilot projects tailored to the local community.
Through this project, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation plans to secure capabilities in the urban air mobility (UAM) and drone aviation mobility sectors and lay the foundation for next-generation mobility business. They also explained that by establishing a comprehensive drone control center and hiring aviation experts to operate it, they will build a foundation for an aviation mobility control system.

Min Kyung-sun, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, stated, "We will strive for regional win-win development by establishing a cooperative relationship with Yangju City regarding next-generation mobility," and emphasized, "Starting with this public offering project, we will develop our capabilities in the aviation mobility sector, including urban air mobility (UAM), and plan to establish cooperative systems with other local governments in the future."
