Opening of the 276th Geochang-gun Council Extraordinary Session
Thorough Understanding of Military Administration through Questions and On-site Visits
The Geochang County Council in Gyeongnam commenced its 9-day extraordinary session on the 27th with the opening ceremony of the 276th extraordinary session and the first plenary meeting.
This extraordinary session is scheduled to include questions on county administration and on-site visits to major project sites. Additionally, six council members?Pyo Joo-suk, Shin Jung-yang, Kim Hyang-ran, Lee Jae-woon, Choi Jun-gyu, and Shin Jae-hwa?will question the county mayor and relevant officials over two days, on the 28th and 29th, regarding plans and operational status of various key county projects.
The on-site visits to major projects are planned for March 5th, including visits to Geochang Forest Leisure Park, Geochang Regional Self-Support Center’s Eco Washing project site, and three Geochang County household waste treatment facilities.

In his opening remarks, Chairman Lee Hong-hee stated, “The ‘Dalbit Railroad Special Act’ passed the National Assembly last month, and it is expected to be an opportunity to overcome the crisis of regional extinction through various synergy effects from the construction of the Dalbit Railroad.” He added, “The council and the executive branch must respond flexibly to the changes of the times with the attitude of Yeosigujin (與時俱進), meaning to advance with the times. If we cooperate wisely to respond to the changing circumstances, we will be able to lead the change and find a strong and sustainable growth engine to drive the development of Geochang County.”
