Gwangju Seo-gu Expands Eligibility for Detailed Developmental Screening Fee Support for Infants and Toddlers
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 27th that it will expand the support targets for detailed developmental examination fees for infants and toddlers starting this year to enable early detection and treatment of developmental issues in young children.
Previously, only medical aid recipients, near-poverty groups, and the bottom 80% of health insurance premium payers were eligible for support, but from this year, the support will be expanded to include basic livelihood security recipients (medical, housing, livelihood), near-poverty groups, and all health insurance subscribers.
The support targets are infants and toddlers under the age of 6 who have been judged as "recommended for in-depth evaluation" in the infant and toddler health screening, and the support amount is up to 400,000 KRW for basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups, and up to 200,000 KRW for health insurance subscribers.
Infants and toddlers eligible for the 3rd to 8th rounds of this year's infant and toddler health screening can receive the detailed developmental examination within one year from the date of the corresponding health screening, and apply for support by visiting the public health center in charge of their resident registration address by the end of June of the year following the year the detailed examination was conducted.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Medical Support Team of the Health Administration Division at Seo-gu Public Health Center.
A representative from Seo-gu Public Health Center stated, "We will promote the detailed examination fee support in various ways to ensure that all eligible individuals apply without omission," and added, "We will continue to strive to improve infant and toddler health and alleviate the economic burden on childcare families."
