The country's largest battery recruitment fair will be held as a side event during 'InterBattery 2024,' taking place from the 6th to the 8th of next month at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Korea Battery Industry Association announced on the 27th that "a total of 22 companies, including the three battery giants LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and SK On, which are experiencing manpower shortages, as well as materials, parts, and equipment companies, Hyundai Motor Company, and POSCO Group, will actively participate in battery workforce recruitment."
The battery industry will provide job seekers with company introductions, recruitment procedures, and other hiring information through this corporate recruitment briefing session. A one-on-one mentoring program between battery company HR representatives and job seekers will also be operated. Anyone seeking employment at battery companies, including undergraduates, master's and doctoral students, job seekers, and those wishing to change careers, can participate.
There will be a total of 40 booths, conducting mentoring sessions for more than 800 people. Industry professionals currently working in the field will provide one-on-one consultations covering all job areas within companies, including HR and R&D. Each mentoring session lasts up to 20 minutes per person. Pre-registration is accepted until March 4th. On-site applications on the day of the event are also possible for participation in mentoring.
Mentoring participants can enter the 'InterBattery 2024' exhibition free of charge. Those who participate in mentoring five or more times and complete satisfaction surveys will be eligible for a drawing by the Battery Association to receive small prizes.
Additionally, the Battery Association has secured a venue that can accommodate more than 150 people to allow as many job seekers as possible to participate in the corporate briefing sessions. During the briefings, each company will introduce key job roles, recruitment plans and procedures, desired talent profiles, corporate culture, and welfare benefits for up to one hour per day.
Participating companies in the corporate briefing sessions include LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, SK On, POSCO Group (3 sessions), Dongwha Electrolite (2 sessions), Ecopro, L&F, and Korea Yumicoa Battery Materials (1 session each).
Separately, students involved in the 'Secondary Battery Industry Specialized Workforce Training Project,' supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, can also participate in 'Mentoring with Seniors.' The Battery Association operates four separate booths for this purpose.
Park Tae-sung, Vice Chairman of the Battery Association, said, "This year, leading battery companies will actively participate in the battery job fair, conducting corporate recruitment briefings and mentoring," adding, "We expect this to help alleviate the manpower shortage in the battery industry."
