Gochang-gun Hosts Visitor Event at Ramsar Wungok Wetland Youth Hostel

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, is holding a prize draw and accommodation discount event for visitors to the Ramsar Ungok Wetland Youth Hostel until the end of the year.

According to the county on the 26th, this event is a prize draw for out-of-area address guests staying at the Ramsar Ungok Wetland Youth Hostel, with one draw per room.

Participants in the prize draw will receive weekday free accommodation vouchers (12 people) and souvenirs (1,000 people) as gifts.

The accommodation discount event offers a 10% discount on the accommodation fee when guests present admission tickets and receipts for two or more paid tourist attractions in Gochang-gun visited on the day of check-in at the youth hostel.

The eligible tourist attractions include Ungok Wetland, Gochang Eupseong Fortress, Sangha Farm, and the Dolmen Museum, totaling nine locations.

In addition, the county has significantly expanded benefits for users of the Ungok Wetland Youth Hostel.

Starting this year, a 50% discount on accommodation fees is provided to Ppurigochangin (holders of the Ppurigochangin certification) and multi-child families from Yeonggwang-gun and Jangseong-gun, which have signed a local government win-win cooperation MOU.

Opened in 2020, the Ramsar Ungok Wetland Youth Hostel consists of six buildings with 12 rooms, accommodating about 70 people simultaneously.

It is an eco-friendly accommodation facility overlooking the Ungok Wetland, a Ramsar wetland and national ecotourism site, and has been steadily loved by many tourists since its opening.

Oh Mi-sook, head of the Tourism Industry Division of Gochang-gun, said, “Through various events and benefits, we expect to promote major tourist sites in Gochang-gun in connection and encourage repeat visits by tourists to Ungok Wetland.” She added, “We hope many people enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Ungok Wetland while experiencing the diverse historical and cultural tourist sites of Gochang-gun.”
