Russian President Putin: "AI Technology Applied to the Defense Industry"

Russia has announced plans to apply artificial intelligence (AI) technology to military equipment.
According to Russian foreign media, on the 23rd (local time), Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a video speech released to mark Russia's national holiday, Defender of the Fatherland Day, stated that the production capacity of domestic defense companies has recently increased, saying, "the next step is not only the development and manufacturing of more advanced military equipment but also the introduction of AI technology into the defense industry."
Earlier, after ordering the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, President Putin has expressed his determination to overcome crises with military power whenever the situation became unfavorable. On the day he proposed the weaponization of AI, he emphasized that the proportion of modern weapons and equipment in Russia's nuclear forces would reach 95%. He also explained that continuous production of hypersonic missiles used in airstrikes on Ukraine has begun, and testing of other attack systems is in the final stages.

President Putin said, "Those on the front lines are participants in the special military operation," and added, "We will spare no effort to provide all possible support so that you, true national heroes, can complete your missions." He is expected to run for a fifth term in the presidential election next month.
