Goheung 'Nokdong Port Drone Show' Gets a New Makeover

38 Performances Over 10 Months, Weekly Saturday Night Shows

From April 13, Spectacular 1000-Drone Light and Fireworks Show Unfolds

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that the ‘2024 Gohung Nokdong Port Drone Show’ is being prepared with more differentiation and novelty compared to last year.

The Nokdong Port Drone Show is the first in the Jeollanam-do region to offer a regular free permanent performance every Saturday night since last year, featuring various themes and productions as a unique nighttime sightseeing tourism product exclusive to Gohung-gun.

According to Gohung-gun, this year’s Nokdong Port Drone Show will start one month earlier than last year, running from April to January next year for a total of 38 performances over 10 months, with more than 500 drones performing every Saturday night in a spectacular show, the county announced on the 22nd.

The first performance of this year’s Nokdong Port Drone Show will open on Saturday, April 13, and will fill the night sea of Nokdong Port with a dazzling festival of light featuring 1,000 drones, media art, and fireworks shows, marking the grand start to both domestic and international audiences.

The county plans to catch two rabbits with one stone by attracting tourists through securing unique nighttime tourism content with differentiated drone show performances this year as well, thereby revitalizing Gohung tourism and the local commercial economy.

In particular, this year, considering the regrets from last year’s short performances of about 10 minutes and the early closing hours of restaurants around Nokdong Port on weekends, the county plans to resolve these issues by supplementing and improving various attractions, food, and entertainment through interdepartmental cooperation.

A Gohung-gun official said, “Starting from April, we will do our best to hold successful performances that showcase high-quality shows at every event with thorough safety management at the Nokdong Port Drone Show permanent performance venue, promoting Gohung tourism, revitalizing the local economy and commercial districts, and raising the status of Gohung as a drone-centered city nationwide.”
