Seodaemun-gu Secures 400 Million KRW in National Funding to Promote Youth Challenge Support Project
Providing Customized Programs for Youth Who Have Given Up Job Searching

View original imageSeodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 23rd that it has secured 400 million KRW in national funding after being selected for the '2024 Youth Challenge Support Project' organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The target group includes a total of 90 individuals such as discouraged job-seeking youth, youth preparing for independence, youth entering or leaving youth welfare facilities, North Korean defector youth, and regionally specialized youth. Among them, the proportion of 'regionally specialized youth' was increased up to 30% to expand participation of Seodaemun-gu youth. There are no residential area restrictions for other participants.
The district office will identify and recruit discouraged job-seeking youth and others, providing tailored programs that help with actual employment such as close counseling, image consulting, and OA (office automation) training. Upon completion, these programs will also be linked with the National Employment Support System and vocational training.

Mayor Lee Seongheon stated, “In particular, we will actively connect professional psychological counseling services and various programs to youth experiencing anxiety, depression, and isolation, to realize Seodaemun-gu as a city where youth are happy.”
