Jeongeup-si, Recruiting Restaurants for Hygiene Grade System Consulting Participation

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk is recruiting 8 food service establishments (general and casual restaurants, bakeries) to participate in the restaurant hygiene rating system consulting support until the 18th of next month.

According to the city on the 23rd, the "Restaurant Hygiene Rating System" is managed by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, where business operators voluntarily apply for hygiene rating evaluations and are assigned and promoted ratings based on their evaluation scores.

After evaluating 64 items across 3 hygiene categories, three ratings are given: Excellent, Good, and Fair.

The city plans to select 8 establishments wishing to receive consulting and have professional consulting firms visit the establishments directly to provide consulting for hygiene rating designation, including ▲ hygienic handling standards ▲ preliminary mock evaluations ▲ application procedure guidance.

Establishments designated with hygiene ratings will receive benefits for 2 years, such as ▲ issuance of certificates and signs ▲ exemption from inspections and visits except in special cases during the designation period ▲ support for hygiene supplies.

Interested establishments can download the application form from the city’s website announcement, fill it out, and submit it by visiting the city health center’s Health and Hygiene Division or by fax.

A city official said, “By supporting consulting for the hygiene rating system, we will raise the hygiene standards of restaurants and do our best to create a dining environment where citizens can use with confidence,” and added, “We ask for active interest and applications from restaurants.”
