People Power Party Strategically Nominates Park Jin for Seodaemun... Single Nominations Including Kim Hyun-ah for Goyang Jeong (Comprehensive)

The People Power Party's Nomination Management Committee on the 21st nominated former Foreign Minister Park Jin for Seoul Seodaemun-eul and former lawmaker Kim Hyun-ah for Goyang-si Jeong, Gyeonggi Province. The committee remained completely silent regarding notifications of cutoffs (nomination exclusions) and related matters.
At a briefing on the same day, Jeong Young-hwan, chairman of the People Power Party's Nomination Committee, announced 3 single-nomination candidates, 4 priority recommendations, and 13 constituencies for primaries. The People Power Party recommended lawyer Ryu Je-hwa for Sejong-si Gap, former lawmaker Kim Hyun-ah for Goyang-si Jeong, Gyeonggi Province, and former National Assembly Secretary-General Hong Hyeong-seon for Hwaseong-si Gap, Gyeonggi Province as single candidates.
Additionally, Park Jin-ung, former administrative officer, was given priority recommendation for Gangbuk-gu Eul, Seoul, and former Minister Park Jin was similarly prioritized for Seodaemun-eul. Furthermore, former English instructor Kim Hyo-eun was prioritized for Osan-si, Gyeonggi Province, and former chairman of the Presidential Youth Committee Park Yong-ho was prioritized for Paju-si Gap.
Moreover, five candidates?Assemblyman Kang Dae-sik from Daegu Dong-gu Eul, Seo Ho-young, vice chairman of the People Power Party Central Committee's Environment Subcommittee, Woo Seong-jin, vice chairman of the People Power Party Central Committee's Public Communication Subcommittee, former Daegu Dong-gu Mayor Lee Jae-man, and Assemblyman Jo Myung-hee?will compete in a primary. In Daegu Suseong-gu Eul, former special committee member for the Presidential Committee on National Integration Kim Dae-sik and Assemblyman Lee In-seon will contest the primary.
In Incheon Namdong-gu Gap, former announcer Son Beom-gyu, former policy advisory committee member for livelihood stability Jeon Seong-sik, and special youth advisor to the Mayor of Incheon Jeong Seung-hwan will compete in the primary. In Daejeon Seo-gu Gap, former Seo-gu Mayor candidate Kim Kyung-seok, former advisory member of the Presidential Inauguration Preparation Committee Jo Seong-ho, and former prosecutor Jo Su-yeon have entered the race. In Daegu Seo-gu Eul, former party district chairman Yang Hong-gyu and former Daejeon Deputy Mayor Lee Taek-gu will compete in the primary.
In Gyeonggi Province, in Suwon-si Mu, former UN Deputy Secretary-General Technical Policy Advisor Kim Won-jae and former party district chairman Park Jae-soon will compete, while in Namyangju-si Gap, lawyer Shim Jang-su, former Marine Corps Commander Yoo Nak-jun, and former Namyangju Mayor candidate Lee In-hee will contest the primary. In Yangju-si, former Yangju City Planning and Administration Director Park Jong-seong and former party district chairman Ahn Ki-young will face off.
In Gangwon Province, for Chuncheon-si, Cheorwon-gun, Hwacheon-gun, Yanggu-gun Gap, former judge Kim Hye-ran and Assemblyman Noh Yong-ho will compete, while for Chuncheon-si, Cheorwon-gun, Hwacheon-gun, Yanggu-gun Eul, former full-time deputy spokesperson Lee Min-chan, Assemblyman Han Ki-ho, and former reporter Heo In-gu will contest the primary.
In Chungbuk Cheongju-si Heungdeok-gu, former reporter Kim Dong-won, former vice minister Kim Hak-do, former provincial party chairman Song Tae-young, and former provincial assembly member Lee Uk-hee will compete in the primary. In Cheongju-si Cheongwon-gu, former Assemblyman Kim Soo-min and former deputy governor Seo Seung-woo will contest the primary. In Gyeongnam Miryang-si, Uiryeong-gun, Haman-gun, Changnyeong-gun, former advisory member of the Presidential Transition Committee Planning and Coordination Subcommittee Bang Sang-ung and former Miryang Mayor Park Il-ho will compete in the primary.

Meanwhile, Secretary-General Jang Dong-hyuk responded to some criticisms regarding the low replacement rate of incumbent lawmakers by stating, "There are deductions for cutoff candidates, lower-rated candidates, and triple-term deductions, so it is inappropriate to say that replacements were not made artificially at this stage," adding, "It would be better to evaluate after seeing the primary results."
