Activities to start with April launch ceremony and continue for 9 months... Policy proposals and agenda discovery planned
Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Su-hee) announced on the 21st that it is recruiting participants for the '2024 Gangdong-gu Youth Network' to discover new policies desired by youth and to expand youth participation in district administration.
This year, the total number of recruits is up to 30 people. They will mainly play a role in forming a consensus on youth issues and collecting opinions from young people to propose policies for youth.
Additionally, they are expected to play a role in reflecting the direction of youth policies and projects in district administration.
The activity period will start with an inauguration ceremony in April and last for nine months until the end of the year. Planned activities include capacity-building workshops, meetings by subcommittees, public forums, youth policy presentations, and performance sharing sessions.
The main detailed activity areas are divided into four subcommittees: 1) Employment and Startups, 2) Housing and Finance, 3) Culture and Arts, and 4) Health and Society. Participants will serve as subcommittee members and identify youth agendas in each field. Subcommittees that propose outstanding policies will be awarded prize money totaling 2 million KRW.
Lee Su-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, “Active policy proposals reflecting youth opinions can lead to the development of youth culture,” and added, “We will support youth in various ways to become a reliable policy partner for them.”
The Youth Network is open to anyone aged 19 to 39 who resides or is active in Gangdong-gu. The recruitment period is from February 15 to March 29.
